- It Is Eco Friendly
You might not know this but laminate flooring is an eco-friendly option. The reason why is because it is made up of sheets of plywood which is naturally derived from wood. It is biodegradable and sustainable for the environment. Instead of plywood these days, laminate floors are made from fiberwood, which is a lot denser and packed than plywood. Also, no trees are cut down when making plywood, unlike conventional hardwood floors. Fiberwood and plywood can be made by compressing chips of wood together and holding them together with a strong adhesive.
- You Can Install It On Top Of Other Floors
This is a very surprising thing to know about laminate flooring. Yes, you can install laminate flooring on top of existing floors, which have not been removed. Laminate sheets are quite thin, so they rest perfectly on top of the existing floors. You don’t need to secure laminate floors with nails or screws either. You can just apply a thin layer of adhesive on a clean floor and put sheets of laminate over it. It will not look bulky and it will save you a lot of time too.

- Harder Than Wood
As mentioned previously, laminate floors are now made of denser fiberwood, which is way stronger than plywood or conventional hardwood. This is why laminate floors are very strong and durable, they are also resistant to a lot of damage, whether it be a strong impact or moisture. The denser the fiberwood is, the more nonporous the laminate flooring will be and no moisture or water can be able to seep into the floors.
- The Designs
You might wonder how laminate flooring can look like any other design of flooring, whether it be marble, wood, ceramic, quartz, etc. Well, this designing takes place in a huge printer. Think of it as a large paper printer, but instead of printing the design into a paper, it is printed on a sheet of fiberwood in a 3-dimensional style, so it doesn’t look flat. The sheets are as thin as a sheet of paper. After the printing process is done, a layer of protective coat is applied on top of the surface, to prevent any scratches from forming.
