The bathroom is a special place in any home. In the bath or shower, you can relax and forget about all your worries. To get the most out of your personal spa time, though, you may be searching for the latest bathroom design ideas. If so, you’re in the right place.

When it comes to bathroom design and installation London, is packed with all the latest trends. This article shares 11 of the most dominant themes for 2021 and 2022. Read on and get the inside scoop on the latest industry styles and find inspiration for your upcoming bathroom remodel.

1. Grey Is Great – Black Is Better

Plenty of bathroom remodelling projects have grey as the dominant colour. While grey is a great choice, the trends are shifting back towards darker hues. 2021 saw a widespread resurgence for black, and it looks like the trend is going to continue. Light fixtures, mirrors, vanities, and other fixtures are suitable in this colour, especially with matte finishes.

2. Floating Vanities

Floating vanities aren’t only modern. They also work as a great space-saving solution with plenty of customisation options. Floating hardware, sinks, and faucets can fit any bathroom style. Choose from complete units with countertops, partial sets, or entirely separate pieces. When opting for the latter, you can find the perfect arrangement without limiting space. Finally, bathroom cleaning is much more straightforward with floating vanities.

3. Back-Lit Mirrors and Cabinets

Hardly any bathroom design piece looks more contemporary than back-lit mirrors and cabinets. Most homeowners include one of these elements in their master bathroom renovation. These modern solutions offer ambient lighting without mirror reflections and can be dimmed to double as a nightlight.

4. Large-Format Wall Tiles

Here’s a promising trend that looks like it’s here to stay. Tiny mosaic tiles are slowly disappearing, making room for their larger counterparts. With larger-format tiles comes an air of luxury, especially when combined with natural stone materials. As for popular colours, they include warm, earthy hues such as tan, brown, beige, or mushroom. Also, a significant benefit of the fewer grout lines is that the tiles are easier to clean.

5. Japandi

Japandi is a leading trend in 2021. It blends the two popular design principles: Japanese aesthetics and Scandinavian minimalism. Mostly comprised of sleek lines, natural materials, and neutral colour schemes, lighting is also at the core of this trend.

6. Deep Blue Bathrooms

Blue has always dominated bathrooms all around the world. But azure, aqua, or arctic blue are slowly taking a back seat, while the deeper blue tones take centre stage. Bathrooms with deep blue tones often have a more elegant and luxurious touch. Mixing sapphire blues and whites gives the trend a timeless appeal.

7. Green

Deep blue isn’t the only trending bathroom colour scheme. There is now greater demand for green-dominated bathrooms. Make way for the micro-trends such as Emerald green, earthy sage, and other variations. The general return to bringing nature back into our homes makes green bathrooms suitable for installing a variety of plants as well. Popular combinations include bamboo, spider plants, and most ferns.

8. Bathroom Wallpapers

Bathroom wallpaper designs are slowly coming back into fashion. While these features were mainly reserved for dry areas, they’re now installed above sinks or even in showers. With the increased demand also comes a variety of designs that used to be quite limited in the past.

9. Stand-Alone Tubs

Given the stresses of the past few years, homeowners are shifting towards creating more comfortable, spa-like bathrooms. Statement baths are the perfect way to transform a bathroom into a boutique hotel-like spa experience. The main downside of stand-alone tubs, however, is that they are mainly suitable for large bathrooms.

10. Wooden Finishes

Natural texture trends keep growing in popularity year after year, and wooden finishes are no exception. Keeping to the latest trend of bringing the outdoors back in, natural wood elements such as vanities, cabinets, and sinks are becoming more desirable.

11. Black-Framed Shower Screen

Black-framed shower screens have seen a massive rise in popularity over the past year. They have an evergreen look that isn’t going away anytime soon. A variation in glass styles such as textured or frosted have made a big impact. Bathrooms featuring these showers look highly bespoke and highly attractive.

Bathroom Design and Installation, London Trends

London homeowners want to create a unique, personalised bathroom to call their own. Some go for a contemporary spa feel, while others stick to the more traditional design route. Whatever your taste or preference, you can make it happen. Hopefully, the ideas from this article have helped you find inspiration for your next property refurbishment.
